SPOILERS FOR SPLIT WILL BE MENTIONED IN THIS ARTICLE. IF YOU HAVEN'T SEEN IT, GO WATCH IT BEFORE READING THIS ARTICLE.
M. Night Shyamalan's career started off on a MAJOR high note with his breakout hit, The Sixth Sense. He continued to have hits like Unbreakable and Signs but the quality in his films started to drastically dip with movies like Lady in the Water.
Many laughed their way out of the theater after watching The Happening, people thought The Last Airbender was a big middle finger to Avatar fans, and After Earth was an abomination. For the last few years, he's been making a comeback with movies like The Visit and this year's Split.
With Split, we got a mind-blowing twist ending that revealed the whole movie was basically a supervillain origin story and it's set in the universe of Unbreakable. Since then, Shyamalan has been teasing an official sequel to Unbreakable.
Now we have official confirmation that it's officially happening and the film is both a sequel to Split and Unbreakable. The movie titled Glass will release on January 19th, 2019 and will bring back Bruce Willis, Samuel L. Jackson, James McAvoy, and Anya Taylor-Joy. You can view Shyamalan's announcement tweets below.
