M. Night Shyamalan to reboot Tales From The Crypt for TNT

An old series is being brought back from the dead.

M. Night Shyamalan will be rebooting the classic series “Tales From The Crypt” and it will be appearing on TNT as part of the network's block of horror and suspense content airing once a week.

The basis of the show comes from a comic book line that was released bi-monthly from 1950-1955. It released 27 issues and was published by EC Comics. The actual show originally aired from 1989 to 1996 on HBO and became a staple for the horror scene. It was labeled as an anthology of horror and its host, the Crypt Keeper, has become widely viewed as one of the most iconic figures in horror history.

EW announced today that the reboot will be part of a new implemented two-hour mix of long and short-form programming that Tales from the Crypt will be heading off. It is slated to air sometime this fall.

“To be part of such a beloved brand like Tales From the Crypt, something I grew up watching, and to also have the chance to push the boundaries of genre television as a whole, is an inspiring opportunity that I can’t wait to dive into,” Shyamalan says.

We couldn't be more excited either, M. Night.
