Madden NFL 15 Cover Vote down to final two: Richard Sherman vs. Cam Newton

After weeks of voting, the Madden NFL 15 cover vote is finally down to its final two athletes. And it's pretty much who I expected.

Seattle Seahawks cornerback Richard Sherman versus Carolina Panthers quarterback Cam Newton.

One of the most polarizing athletes in the annual voting competition, Sherman has decimated the competition, both on the field in real life and in the voting. Last round, Sherman defeated division rival Colin Kaepernick (49ers QB), obtaining 65 percent of the votes. He also previously defeated New Orleans Saints tight end Jimmy Graham and Chicago Bears wide receiver Alshon Jeffery. It's clear that last year's playoff rant is no longer an issue for Sherman who usually has no problem speaking his mind to the media.

Meanwhile, Cam Newton's path to the finals has been a little closer. Last round, he edged out Indianapolis Colts quarterback Andrew Luck, receiving 55 percent of the vote. He previously defeated Kansas City Chiefs runningback Jamaal Charles and and Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver Antonio Brown. Newton has always been a huge fan-favorite and also reached the final vote for the Madden NFL 13 cover where he lost out to fellow teammate Calvin Johnson.

Voting for the final round of the Madden NFL 15 begins today and is  open until Friday, June 6. You can vote here.
