Madden NFL 16 player ratings: Top 5 Tight Ends revealed

Greg Olsen – Carolina Panthers – 92 Overall

At age 30, Greg Olsen has a monster year last year — the best of his 8 year NFL career. Olsen has consistently been a red zone threat and because of that he's the 4th best tight end in Madden 16 with  89 Catching, 89 Jumping, 88 Spectacular Catch, 88 Release, and 87 Catch in Traffic.

Travis Kelce – Kansas City Chiefs – 91 Overall

The youngest player on the list, Travis Kelce missed his entire rookie season due to injury. He shined in his return to the field last year, though, and that's good enough to earn him 89 Catching, 89 Jumping, 88 Spectacular Catch, 88 Release, and 87 Catch in Traffic. He's also the only tight end on the list in which blocking was mentioned; he boasts a tight end-high 85 Run Block. Remember when tight ends used to block?

Like I said, not much to debate with on this list. However, there's plenty to analyze as EA has already revealed the top QBs, RBs, WRs, and Rookies.

Jimmy Graham – Seattle Seahawks – 95 Overall

Jimmy Graham isn't as loud as Gronk, but he's certainly as flashy on the field. Easily one of the most athletic players in the NFL, Jimmy Graham boasts 92 Catching, 90 Spectacular Catch, and 88 Catch in Traffic. Other ratings that'll help him fight for the ball include 85 Speed, 92 Jump, 87 Route Running, and 88 Release. Seattle Seahawks fans now have a new weapon in the game.

Jason Witten – Dallas Cowboys – 93 Overall

It's weird, when I watch the Dallas Cowboys play I feel like Jason Witten is always the slowest player on the field. Yet somehow, the dude always finds a way to get open and make the clutch plays. Witten had an off season by his own standards last year, but his consistency throughout the years probably have something to do with him being the third best tight end in Madden 16. His sure hands and solid route running translate into 95 Catching, 92 Catch in Traffic, 88 Route Running, 85 Release, and 79 Spectacular Catch. EA chose not to reveal his speed (probably to avoid another Dez Bryant situation).

After some lapse of judgement with wide receivers yesterday, it appears EA has found their common sense again with tight ends in Madden NFL 16. Continuing to reveal the top players at each position, today EA unveiled the top five tight ends in Madden NFL 16. No real surprises in this category.

Rob Gronkowski – New England Patriots – 99 Overall

Regardless of how you feel about Rob Gronkowski's ridiculous antics, there's no denying he's the best tight end in the league. In Madden 16, Gronk has three of the top ratings among tight ends with 94 Spectacular Catch, 98 Catch in Traffic, and 95 Release. Other ratings include 94 Catching, 82 Speed, 87 Acceleration, 84 Jumping, and 84 Stiff Arm. When on the field, he's a monster, but the question surrounding Gronk is can he stay healthy?

Side note, Rob Grownkowski is also the only player in Madden 16 to have a 100 rating in spiking and partying.
