Among the many announcements during their Q3 2017 earnings conference call, EA has announced that beginning next year, their annual (American) football franchise, Madden, will be moving into the Frostbite Engine. Madden is the second of EA Sports' franchises to move on from the Ignite Engine, following FIFA, which made its debut this past year in Frostbite.
EA had this to say:
"Our Madden NFL franchise will transition to the Frostbite engine with Madden NFL 18, unlocking major visual advancements and new gameplay experiences that will excite dedicated Madden players, football fans, and sports fans overall."
EA still plans to move their NBA Live and NHL franchises over to Frostbite at some point, but it's still unknown when that will happen.
In other news, Madden NFL 17 predicts (sadly) that the New England Patriots will emerge victorious in this weekend's Super Bowl, 27-24. #RiseUp
