Mafia 2 discounted on Steam to celebrate Mafia 3

After a slew of rumored casting calls and domain names, publisher 2K has finally confirmed the existence of Mafia 3. The long-awaited sequel will make its official debut at Gamescom this August, but in the meantime fans can catch up on the goings on of Mafia 2 on the cheap thanks to a new Steam sale.

Mafia 2 will be discounted 80 percent, from $39.99 to $7.99, through 1 p.m. Eastern, Thursday, July 30. The game’s accompanying DLC is also on sale. This includes the Jimmy’s Vendetta, Greaser and Renegade packs, which total roughly $3.20.

Mafia 3 details are still understandably scarce. 2K has only stated that it will continue the series’ tradition of “immersing players into a world of organized crime through rich narrative storytelling and a beautifully crafted game world featuring period-accurate cars, music and fashion.”
