Mark Millar talks up ‘X-Men: Days of Future Past’

Mark Millar, who's overseeing everything Marvel for Fox, was talking up X-Men: Days of Future Past with SFX in a recent interview. From what he's said, it sounds like it's going to be an incredible movie — one he described as "X-Men meets The Terminator."

In speaking with them, he said, "Vaughn is going for a big sci-fi thing with X-Men: Days of Future Past. It's X-Men meets the Terminator. […] You've got robots, you've got time travel, you've got superheroes — it's got everything in one film."

And he's right, it does. The storyline, if it's based on the comic storyline, involves time travel to warn the X-Men of a future with Sentinels. Those will probably be the robots Millar mentioned. The film is scheduled to release in theaters on July 18, 2014, with both a bigger budget and more ambition. How will director Matthew Vaugh handle that? Millar commented, "Cost-wise it's going to go up, and ambitious-wise it's gone up, but Vaughn can handle it. Vaughn made Kick-Ass for $28 million."
