Marvel announces Ant-Man and the Wasp for July 2018

With Phase 2 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe closed, Marvel updated everyone with new details on Phase 3. The big announcement has to do with Ant-Man, which released in theaters this past summer. Scott Lang and Hope Van Dyne will appear in Marvel's 'Ant-Man and the Wasp', releasing July 6, 2018. It's the first sequel film from Marvel Studios named after its heroine.

Ant-Man followed Avengers: Age of Ultron, which earned a global total of $1.4 billion worldwide. Meanwhile, Ant-Man made $147M domestic, and $409M worldwide off of a $130M production budget.

With the announcement of Ant-Man and the Wasp, Marvel shifted a couple of dates for their other films. Black Panther is moving up to February 16, 2018, and Captain Marvel will release on March 8, 2019. There are also three untitled Marvel Studios films that will release on May 1, 2020; July 10, 2020; November 6, 2020.
