Marvel announces The Amazing Spider-Man 2 video game coming Spring 2014

Marvel announced at their New York Comic-Con panel that The Amazing Spider-Man 2 video game will be launching Spring 2014 on PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360, Xbox One, Wii U, Nintendo 3DS and PC.

Developed by Beenox, like the first The Amazing Spider-Man video game, The Amazing Spider-Man 2 will be a third-person action-adventure game with its own unique story. So, like the first game, it won't follow the movie's events. In an open-world Manhattan, players will play as both Peter Parker and Spider-Man as they encounter characters from the film and comics, and use new upgrades and abilities.

There's also a new "Hero or Menace" system — which was probably created by John Jonah Jameson — where good deeds will get you more feature unlocks and letting bad guys get away will have penalties.
