In 1998 we saw the first Metal Gear Solid game ever, it hit the original PlayStation and started a legacy that is still moving forward today with Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain.
If we backtrack a bit, not all the way back to the beginning, but back to 2008 – we see the release of Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots. This game brought the game into non-linear stages, the revolutionary OctoCamo suit, and added a remote-controlled 'Metal Gear MK. II' droid.
Basically, Guns of the Patriots brought a lot to the Metal Gear Solid series. For the first time ever, Guns of the Patriots will be available digitally on the PlayStation 3. The game will cost you $19.99 and will release on December 16, 2014. If you aren't familiar with Guns of the Patriots, here's a description from the developers:
Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots is set in a battle-scarred future where huge conglomerates fight for supremacy using armies of handpicked mercenaries. This devastated world is seen through the battle-weary eyes of an older Solid Snake who is tasked with infiltrating a number of key locations across the globe, including the Middle East and South America. Snake’s story delivers a deep and involved campaign, filled with eclectic characters that push the aged hero to his limits.
