Microsoft confirms release dates for your free monthly Xbox LIVE gold games

Microsoft has announced the monthly release dates for its "Games with Gold," a new promotion in which Xbox LIVE Gold Members can download two free Xbox 360 games each month. According to the official site, the two games will be available on the 1st and 16th of each month.

As revealed during Microsoft's E3 press conference, the Games with Gold promotion will provide Xbox LIVE Gold subscribers with access to two free, Microsoft-selected Xbox 360 games each month until the end of the year — perhaps as a way to gauge user interest and see if it's worth keeping the PS Plus-like system. Fable 3 was the program's first offering, with Halo 3 and Assassin's Creed 2 already confirmed as July's games.

"As our way of saying thanks for being part of this community, we’re giving all qualifying Gold members two free Xbox 360 games each month for the rest of the year. Each specially selected, fan-favorite game will be available to download only for a limited time, so grab them before they’re gone and keep them no matter what," Microsoft explained.
