Microsoft introduced Xbox SmartGlass at their E3 press briefing this week.
The technology, for tablets and smartphones, connects secondary content to the console experience — providing in-game maps or displaying information about a title or show.
The SmartGlass app will work for mobile devices and Windows 8 PCs.
One example shows the app guiding Game of Thrones viewers along a map of Westeros as an episode progresses.
