Mighty Switch Force! on the 3DS is not only a really great game, but it's also a really pretty game. If that wasn't enough, it received a nice free update which added more levels (read: more awesomeness), and showed that Nintendo platforms aren't all that incapable when it comes to digital content.
WayForward plans to see what all the Wii U buzz is about, because the developer has confirmed that Mighty Switch Force! is being ported over to the upcoming platform with a sweet graphical boost and redesigned characters. Speaking to Nintendo Power, WayForward Creative Director Matt Bozon said that "remaking Mighty Switch Force! in HD lets us experiment on the new hardware."
Bozon said that WayForward really enjoyed working with Nintendo to create titles for its digital download platform, and that the studio hopes to be a part of the Wii U's launch. When asked if the HD version of Mighty Switch Force! would include all add-on content that was released for the 3DS version, the creative director responded, "Yes, the recently released 'Bonus Incidents' and retry option from the N3DS version will be included in the Wii U version. We're having a tough time putting our pencils down, so we may end up adding even more features before we're done."
WayForward showing interest in being a part of the Wii U's launch is certainly positive news. Additionally, the fact that the developer is bringing such a great title like Mighty Switch Force! to the console is definitely something to look forward to. Of course, the upcoming HD port is just the beginning, as WayForward has plans to deliver more content to both the 3DS and the Wii U.
