MineCon 2012 confirmed for Europe

The second annual Minecraft convention, MineCon, will take place in Europ this year.

At least, that's the plan, as Mojang is still in the process of signing the papers for the location and date. The company is headed to a "secret location" next week to check it out and officially make MineCon 2012 happen. Mojang won't make any more announcements or share any more details until everything is signed and confirmed.

The first MineCon took place at the Mandalay Bay casino in Las Vegas over November 18 and 19 last year, coinciding with the release of the final PC version of Minecraft. Of course, by final, we mean the release version as Mojang continues to update the game even today. This year, Mojang will undoubtedly have much more to play with thanks to the release of Minecraft: Xbox 360 Edition and Minecraft: Pocket Edition.

In the meantime, the company confirmed they will have a presence at PAX Prime, taking place August 31 through September 2. They didn't say if they will be showing off new project 0x10c or something Minecraft related.
