Minecraft: Xbox One Edition now available

It came a little later than expected, but Minecraft is finally available on the Xbox One.

As promised, Minecraft: Xbox One Edition was released today, bringing Mojang's hit sandbox adventure to the next-gen system. With it comes 4-player split screen or 8-player online multiplayer, and worlds that are 36 times larger than the Xbox 360 counterpart.

Minecraft: Xbox One Edition can be purchased for $19.99; however, those who already own the Xbox 360 Edition can upgrade to the next-gen version for just $4.99. All downloadable content already purchased for the Xbox 360 version will carry over to the Xbox One as well.

Later this month, select retailers will sell the full game Digital Download Code. For those who prefer something tangible, the full game packaged disc will hit retailers this holiday season.
