Let's face it, chances are you didn't end up with a sweet pre-order of the new Pip-Boy edition of Fallout 4. Even after Gamestop apparently opened the flood gates with even more expensive versions that now cover everything from the game to the season pass, it's still impossible to get one as they sold out immediately.
Since the Pip-Boy app is now live, you can start messing around with it in demo mode, since the game's not out yet. Once the game is out, you'll be able to connect your console or PC to the app, and have all the information readily available on your wrist, instead of in the game. And this got me thinking; Maybe there's an alternative, less obtrusive way to mount your phone on your wrist, and still be functional the same way.
Sure enough there is, and you'll only be spending a fraction of the price. What's better, phones that were said to be unsupported by the Pip-Boy wrist device like the iPhone 6+ and Galaxy S6, will now work no problem.
Look at that, way less bulky than that other, official one! Dammit, I still want it…
iPhone users can head on over to this page, which is a general search for iPhone wrist bands. Some of my personal recommendations would be this one, or perhaps this one.
Alternatively, Samsung Galaxy or Android users can opt to go for this wrist band, since it supports many different kinds of phones that are up to 5.5 inches.
Listen, it may not be as cool looking as actually wearing a Pip-Boy on your arm, but for those on a budget, or perhaps those with bigger phones like myself, this is a pretty cool alternative at a fraction of the price.
