Continuing its regular dose of content, Modern Warfare 3 and Call of Duty: Elite subscribers are expected to receive three, action-packed Spec Ops missions for August, but making news today are leaked images of the September: a trio of multiplayer maps.
The pictures, which can be seen below, point to Parish, Boardwalk, and Gulch as September’s map packs, and though Activison or Infinity Ward has yet to confirm the report, the official content schedule lists three multiplayer maps as September’s content drop.
Xbox 360-Elite subscribers can pick up the content pack for free when the maps hit sometime in September; PS3-Elite members will follow a month later due to Activision’s “exclusivity” with Microsoft. And as always, non-Elite folk can purchase the map pack at a later date for an unannounced price.
September’s content drop will also be a landmark event for Modern Warfare 3 as the calendar for regular DLC releases fails to extend past the month due to Black Ops 2’s release in November. Will Infinity Ward continue to support their beloved shooter past the launch of Treyarch’s blockbuster? Most likely; but September may be the last month that we see content at the spoon fed pace we’ve come to grow accustomed to.
