More evidence of Darkstalkers 4

Is a new Darkstalkers game in the works? All signs point to yes.

At Capcom's Street Fighter 25th Anniversary panel today at SDCC, series producer Yoshinori Ono asked fans to hold up $5 or $10 bills to show their support for Darkstalkers. He then snapped a picture to take back to Capcom as evidence.

"This year, you don’t have to do that, and it’s not necessarily bad news!" he said, later clarifying that he has to be careful about what he says.

It's possible that Darkstalkers 4 could be in development. Capcom not only re-released Darkstalkers 3 on PSN recently, but a rumor from earlier this year, reported by GamesBeat, suggests that Ono is in charge of a new game.

At the time, Capcom said, “We have made no announcements.”

Characters like Morrigan have appeared in non-series games such as Marvel vs. Capcom 3, but otherwise Darkstalkers has been mostly dormant for over a decade.
