More Titanfall experiences on the way as EA confirms new publishing agreement with Respawn

Back in March we heard rumors that Electronic Arts had secured the rights to a sequel for Respawn Entertainment's multiplayer shooter, Titanfall. During yesterday's earnings call, EA had confirmed the new publishing agreement, revealing that they are working with Respawn on "new Titanfall experiences."

"We’re also excited to announce that EA is continuing its partnership with Vince Zampella and the Respawn Entertainment team, building on our success in delivering Titanfall, the biggest interactive entertainment event of the year so far," EA CEO Andrew wilson announced. "Through a new publishing agreement, we’ll be working with Respawn to bring new Titanfall experiences to players worldwide."

It's unclear if a sequel could make its way to other platforms, but back in October of last year Respawn co-founder Vince Zampella — in confirming Titanfall's Xbox console exclusivity — also suggested that any future series installments could be released on other consoles as well. As it was revealed in January, EA had originally based Titanfall's exclusivity on Xbox One and PS4 sales forecasts, and not Microsoft's cloud technology. With the PS4 having sold over 7 million consoles, I have a hard time believing EA will go exclusive again.
