Panels from what seems to be an unreleased Marvel vs. Capcom 3 promotional comic have been leaked online featuring characters Galactus and Taskmaster. If the panels are legitimate it gives substantial credence to the rumors that these characters would be featured in the game.
The panels show several other characters from the game, including Ryu, Hulk, Deadpool, and Dante. There’s little doubt that the art is at the very least intended to be Marvel vs. Capcom related, but whether it is definitely promotional material isn’t yet clear.
Reports over the source of the leak have sparked a bit of drama, with artist Kevin Sharpe taking the brunt of the finger-pointing from various news sites. A post on Sharpe’s Deviant Art page has him defending himself, claiming he had nothing to do with the leak.
While a handful of new characters is surely great news for MvC3 fans, the potential impact of this news on a real person’s career raises some thought-provoking questions. Is all this drama worth a tidbit of video game news? I’m not sure it is.
