New 16GB Ouya console revealed

A new model for the Ouya gaming console was revealed today, offering consumers an upgraded version of the Android-based system with double the memory.  The new version features the same compact look as the original Ouya but doubles the storage space from 8GB to 16GB, allowing for more games, apps, and media. Of course, it also comes with an upgraded price of $129.99, $30 more than the current Ouya.

Despite the arrival of the newer model, the original 8GB Ouya is still available for $99.99. Below are the official specs of the new system which you can purchase starting today.

  • CPU: nVIDIA Tegra 3 – T33 Quad-Core Processor
  • Memory: 1GB RAM
  • Console Dimensions: 75mm x 75mm x 82mm (2.9in x 2.9in x 3.2in)
  • Storage: 16GB Internal Flash Storage (expandable via USB Port)
  • USB: One USB 2.0 port, One Micro USB port
  • Connectivity: WiFi (802.11 a/b/g/n), Ethernet port, and Bluetooth
  • Video Output: HDMI (up to 1080p HD)
