New Fallout: New Vegas mod crafted by game’s own lead designer

Fallout: New Vegas, though well-recieved, ultimately fell short of the high standards set by predecessor Fallout 3, with a variety of technical issues and bugs plaguing the game. Apparently the development staff was aware of these problems, though will looming deadlines, they found themselves unable to tweek the game further, releasing New Vegas without getting a chance to truly perfect it. However, whereas most developers would simply move onto their next project, it seems lead designer Joshua Eric Sawer was unsatisfied with leaving the game in such a state, and has just now released an unofficial mod, bumping up the game's difficulty and fixing a variety of bugs.

This sort of content would usually seem grounds for an official patch, especially seeing as it comes from a source who played a major part in the game's creation. However, given the changes in difficulty, its obvious that some players would prefer the friendlier code of the original, and an unofficial mod seems a workable solution for those who wish to get the Fallout: New Vegas director's cut experience.
