Legendary Entertainment's film adaptation of Mass Effect has a new writer. Morgan Davis Foehl, who's taking over for Mark Protosevich (Thor, I Am Legend), is a fan of BioWare's popular game series.
Foehl has worked as assistant editor on FX's Rescue Me television show as well as movie comedies I Now Pronounce You Chuck and Larry and Click. He also penned the script for Crosshair, an in-development adaptation of the Top Cow comic about a former CIA assassin.
Legendary Pictures acquired the rights to the Mass Effect film in 2010. Avi and Ari Arad (also handling the upcoming Uncharted movie) are set to produce it. X-Men and Spider-Man producer Avi Arad announced the Metal Gear Solid film as a special guest onstage at the Metal Gear Solid 25th Anniversary event in August, saying, "For many years, I fought to bring comics to theaters … and video games are the comics of today."
Avi is also listed as executive producer on Pac-Man: The Adventure Begins, a television series set for 2013, and producer on this year's The Amazing Spider-Man and its upcoming sequel.
Both Avi and Ari Arad worked as producers on Iron Man and Ghost Rider, among many other comic book adaptations for film and TV.
