With video games seemingly expanding to various theme parks, such as Nintendo rides appearing in Universal Studios at some point, it's not surprising that more of these instances seem to be popping up. The latest is quite a surprise.
The BioWare blog announced yesterday that a new ride based on Commander Shepard's Normandy, will be coming to California's Great America theme park. Details are sparse, but the description sounds pretty awesome.
The interactive ride, curated by a live performer, will take guests on a journey to a distant planet, where they will face off against larger-than-life foes and fight to save the day. Using cutting-edge 3D technology and 4D effects, the ride throws passengers right into the action, creating a fantastical adventure that they won’t soon forget.
No solid date was given, but the ride is expected to open sometime in 2016. Given that I life in Florida, looks like I'll be needing to make a road trip sometime next year.
