New Pokemon Go Event Announced: Adventure Week

Pokemon Go, the massive success by Niantic, is having yet another in-game event. To switch up the formula, Niantic hosts various events often that offer additional experience, eggs, Pokemon types, etc. This month, they've announced Adventure Week.

Starting on May 18 at 1pm PT/4pm ET, Adventure Week brings a higher chance of rock-type Pokemon encounters. This means more Omanyte, Aerodactyl, Onix, Sudowoodo and more. Beyond this, the event also adds more items to PokeStops, easier candy gains for Buddy Pokemon (1/4 the walking distance). There's also a new "Adventurer's Hat" that the player will get for free by playing during the event.

The last event brought greater chances for grass-type Pokemon, while the one before it made eggs hatch with rarer Pokemon than usual.

The Adventure Week begins May 18 and ends May 25 at ppm PT/4pm ET.
