New source further details PS4.5, suggests reveal window

So many rumors these days.

It appears as though Sony is doing a bad job covering up the next iteration of their PlayStation 4. A new source has come out to not only support the rumor of the PS4.5, which was lovingly renamed they PS4K in one report, but to also offer more details than either of the previous rumors.

Previous rumors suggested that the next PlayStation feature an upgraded GPU to support 4K resolution, the newest details on the alleged console further details the enhanced PS4.

According to the report, the enhanced PS4 will be announced prior to the October release of the PlayStation VR headset, with "enhanced graphics and power."

"Existing PlayStation 4 owners would need to buy the new model to take full advantage of the enhanced graphics and power," wrote The Wall Street Journal (via GameSpot). "Though it is likely that the current model and the coming one would share the same software catalog."

The Wall Street Journal went on the say that Sony's goal is "to capture gamers willing to pay for a richer gaming environment, including a high-end virtual-reality experience" with the enhance PS4.

This isn't the first time we have heard about the "PS4K" or "PS4.5," a number of executives across the gaming industry have mentioned it in conversation.
