New Star Wars: The Force Awakens trailer made Kevin Smith cry

As the entire world is well aware by now, a new trailer for Star Wars: The Force Awakens will debut tonight during Monday Night Football. And apparently it's so good it'll move you to tears. At least, that's the effect it had on writer/director/geek culture guru Kevin Smith who somehow saw tonight's trailer early and shared his thoughts on it.

Taking to Twitter, Smith called tonight's trailer "one of my favorite promos of all time. Breathtaking. Tears of joy."

Smith isn't the first person we've heard praise the new footage. Making Star Wars also apparently saw the trailer early and also described as "something special." This also isn't the first time Smith has been moved to tears with the new Star Wars. Earlier this year, he took to Instagram and although he couldn't share exact details, he did say "The Force is WITH this movie. Holy Sith…"

Although much of Star Wars: The Force Awakens' plot remains a mystery, it's easily the most anticipated film of this year — and the hype surrounding just the release of a new trailer is proof of that. Disney and the official Star Wars social channels have been posting teasers of tonight's exclusive promo, and yesterday the official theatrical poster was released.
