New Super Smash Bros. character to be revealed on Monday

Nintendo has plans to reveal a brand new Super Smash Bros. character next week, series director Masahiro Sakurai announced on Miiverse today.

Rather than unveiling the character through a plain ol' Nintendo Direct broadcast, Nintendo will be hosting a livestream on the official Super Smash Bros. website. It will begin at 7:00am U.S. Pacific Time (10am U.S. Eastern, 4pm European Central Time). Unfortunately, there were no hints or clues as to who this character could be.

"Looks like we're nearing the bottom of the stash of new challenger videos that we've made," Sakurai added. "Like always, we put a lot of effort into it, so I hope you'll enjoy watching it live."

Nintendo has already posted the livestream to their site, and you can find it embedded below. All that's there right now though is a countdown to the time of the reveal. Make sure to check back on Monday for the announcement.
