New Super Smash Bros. rumored to hit Wii U November 21, bundled with amiibo

An anonymous GameStop store manager (in contact with MyNintendoNews) says that Super Smash Bros. will release for Wii U November 21, and that each copy of the game will include a free amiibo figure.

Amiibo is Nintendo’s answer to the growing popularity of NFC (near-field technology) figurines, most notably Disney Infinity and Skylanders. They revealed their line of figures at E3 2014, with Nintendo America president Reggie Fils-aime promising quick Mario Kart and Super Smash Bros. integration but that many Wii U titles will take advantage of the tech.

Nintendo has not commented on the rumored date and bundle, nor have they revealed an official Wii U release date. Super Smash Bros. will release for 3DS October 3.

Super Smash Bros. recently added three characters to its roster: returning favorite Captain Falcon and Lucina and Robin from Fire Emblem to join Marth.
