Today, Jagex, the team developing Transformers Universe, announced the launch of the game's website in preparation for the next stage of the free-to-play MMO's release. If this is your first time hearing about Transformers Universe, it is a free-to-play MMO that focuses on the battle between the Autobots and Decepticons. There's dozens of Transformers to choose from, and you upgrade your Transformers and their abilities. As you win battles as a certain faction, you progress that faction's storyline.
The website will be the hub for the game's BETA, which goes live in early 2013. Tim Hodges, the Transformers Universe Brand Directed, said, "We are delighted to be entering the next phase of our launch plans for Transformers Universe and we hope that players enjoy using this new hub for all the latest Transformers Universe news and information."
Transformers Universe won't be your typical MMO, as traditional MMO tropes don't fit with the brand. Transformers don't carry gold, craft armor and have boss fights. It's going for more of a MOBA feel, with shorter, action-packed matches between players.
To check out the new website and sign up for the BETA, visit www.TransformersUniverse.com.
