I don't know about you, but it has never once occurred to me that putting a game cartridge of any kind in my mouth was remotely a rational idea. Apparently many media peeps around the internet disagreed with that notion and have been left with a literal bad taste in their mouths. It feels like the Cinnamon Challenge all over again.
Here's a GIF of GiantBomb's Jeff Gerstmann giving it a try and then immediately regretting it.
According to IGN's Alanah Pearce, the reason Nintendo has made the cartridges taste as terribly as they do is so that kids won't eat them. In that sense, I suppose it's a good idea, but given that this has been a trend around the internet today, I'd add adults to that description as well.
Naturally, Pearce had to try it out for herself.
So there you have it, folks. Nintendo Switch cartridges are high in fun but horrendous in flavor. At the very least if you decide to try this, it won't take long for you to learn your lesson.
