Nexon’s Dungeon Fighter coming to Xbox LIVE Arcade

Following their less than stellar stock debut, Nexon seems to be expanding their horizons beyond the free-to-play PC marketplace. Their strategy? Get people hooked on dumbed down versions of their popular franchises, in hopes of luring them online for the real deal. We've seen this with the recent Maple Story variant available for Facebook, and now Nexon is hoping to hook Xbox gamers with a version of Dungeon Fighter for Xbox LIVE arcade: Dungeon Fighter LIVE: Fall of Hendon Myre.

Dungeon Fighter is a 2D MMO, which plays much like a classic brawler such as Final Fight or Streets of Rage, with plenty of RPG-style gear and powers to keep players addicted. The game thus seems a fine choice for an arcade title, stripping out the "massively multiplayer" aspect while still delivering a solid brawling experience. Given the wealth of awesome beat-em-ups already littering the XBLA marketplace (Castle Crashers, Scott Pilgrim, Guardian Heroes…) Nexon has plenty of competition, though true brawler junkies will likely want to give this one a try.

We've yet to experience the game first hand, but the trailer has us intrigued. Keep an eye on this one for sure.
