EA Sports announced on their blog today that a demo for NHL 14 will be available on August 20 in North America on both PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. If you're in Europe, you can download the demo on August 21.
There are multiple modes that come with the demo, one of which is NHL 95 Anniversary mode. Announced back in June, NHL 94 Anniversary Mode brings back the old-school style of NHL 94 gameplay, complete with blue ice and overhead camera of NHL 94. You use classic button controls and watch classic goal celebrations.
If you're not feeling nostalgic, the demo also has Play Now, which is just NHL 14 in its purest form. Players can use either the Boston Bruins or the 2013 Stanley Cup Champion Chicago Blackhawks. The action picks up in the third period.
Also in the demo is Hockey Ultimate Team, described as the "definitive fantasy experience." After building your Ultimate Team, you take part in a mini-tournament against the Halifax Mooseheads, Grand Rapids Griffins, Boston Bruins and Chicago Blackhawks. Players are rewarded with a HUT pack in the full game version of NHL 14 for completing each of these tasks in the demo:
NHL 14 is releasing on Septmeber 10 on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. The game features NHL Collision Physics, Enforcer Engine, One Touch Dekes and many more improvements.
