EA Sports has confirmed that Online Seasons will be available in NHL 14's Hockey Ultimate Team. For those unfamiliar, Hockey Ultimate Team lets you build an ultimate fantasy team from a pool of more than 4,000 players from leagues around the world, and compete against other players' teams. Online Seasons is a promotion (win and move up) and relegation (lose and get demoted) system that tracks your team's progress across multiple seasons.
Other features in NHL 14's Hockey Ultimate Team include an Auction Assistant that displays key information (average price range, rarity rating, item availability) when buying a player from the Auction House. Additionally, you can now earn EA Pucks, the in-game currency for Hockey Ultimate Team, by completing games in other game modes like Play Now or Online Versus mode. EA Pucks will also be rewarded based on your performance at the end of the match.
NHL 14 is due out for PS3 and Xbox 360 on September 13 worldwide.
