Square Enix announced earlier today that the recently released Action-RPG, NieR: Automata's physical and digital sales have combined to push the game past the one million mark. The game originally released a little less than a month ago on March 7th for PS4 and then released its PC port ten days later on March 17th. So for a game that has barely been out for a month coming from a relatively niche pedigree, that's pretty impressive.
NieR: Automata tells the story of androids 2B, 9S, and A2 as they fight to reclaim the Earth from invaders who used machines to drive out the human race from their home to the moon. In time, the people developed an army of androids to combat the enemy horde but proved unsuccessful in stopping them. 2B, 9S, and A2 represent a new and more advanced version of the android infantry called the YoRHa squad. And it is up to you, the player to take to the planet's surface to reclaim the old world and discover its secrets.
NieR: Automata is available now for PS4 and PC.
