Ninja Theory teams with Chillingo for Fightback on iOS and Android

Ninja Theory, the studio behind Heavenly Sword and the recent DmC Devil May Cry reboot, is teaming with Chillingo, a leading independent mobile games publisher, for a new free-to-play action game on iOS and Android devices. The game is called Fightback and all we know for certain is that it's a "action game with a striking 80s action movie vibe." Gameplay is said to consist of a "revolutionary" touch-based combat system.

A sole screenshot was released alongside today's announcement, giving us a brief clue as to what to expect from Fightback. The three-star bar at the bottom seems to indicate a score meter based on points accumulated by skill moves and combos. There's also a gun icon in the bottom corner, suggesting weapons will be usable.

“Mobile and tablet gaming is a phenomenon that we just couldn’t ignore as a studio and we’re very proud to be working with one of the industry’s heavy-weights on bringing Fightback to market. Ninja Theory has always strived for the highest production values and that absolutely remains the case in this exciting new space,” said Ninja Theory's product manager Dominic Matthews

Fightback is set to launch this summer. Look out for a hands-on preview of Fightback as part of GameZone's E3 coverage in June.
