Nintendo 3DS game play is ‘unparalleled’, says Nintendo

If you're looking for a hand-held gaming system to get this holiday season, you might want to turn your attention to the Nintendo 3DS, Nintendo's dual-screen, 3D-enabled portable system. Coming off the Nintendo Direct presentation, in which the company showcased an impressive 2012 holiday lineup for the 3DS, Nintendo of America's Scott Moffitt described the quality of portable game play on the 3DS as "unparalleled".

"The quality of portable game play on Nintendo 3DS is unparalleled; no other hand-held device can match it," said Nintendo of America's executive vice president of Sales & Marketing Scott Moffitt. During the presentation, Nintendo showcased a slew of upcoming titles including Paper Mario: Sticker Star, Disney Epic Mickey: Power of Illusion, and Adventure Time: Hey Ice King! Why'd You Steal Our Garbage?!!.

"And that holds true whether games are purchased in packaged form, or via digital download," he added. In just its 20th month of availability, the Nintendo 3DS boasts a combined lineup of more than 650 traditional packaged and digital games.

With a lineup boasting that many titles, how can you not find something that will appeal to you? Do I agree with Moffitt in that other handhelds, like the PlayStation Vita, can't match the 3DS? Not necessarily; the Vita, though it's lineup is considerably smaller, still offers a fun game play experience.

At the end of the day, why choose one? I say, this year, go all out and purchase both the 3DS and the Vita!
