Nintendo E3 Direct: Pokémon X and Pokémon Y get a worldwide release date

Pokémon X and Pokémon Y, two new Nintendo 3DS Pokémon titles, finally have a solid release date. Confirmed during Nintendo's E3 2013 Direct presentation, both Pokémon 3DS games will be released worldwide on October 12.

In other news, Nintendo revealed both Pokémon X and Y are receiving a new Fairy type, the 18th to be introduced to hte franchise. The Fairy type is effective against Dragons. A new Pokémon named Noivern was also announced.

And in creepy news, the games will include a new feature that will let you tickle and stroke the critters to increase your friendship with them. The "Pokémon-Amie" is a way to form a "deeper connection" with your Pokémon. It still sounds creepy.
