The Nintendo eShop is once again available for all Nintendo platforms, Wii U and 3DS included. Nintendo today announced the return of the digital shop which was temporarily disabled following a three-day period in which Nintendo's online services experienced "technical difficulties."
In a post on Facebook, Nintendo explained that a "one-time surge in demand over the recent holidays" is what primarily caused the initial outage along with "an influx of new Nintendo Network acounts being created and accessing the Nintendo eShop."
"Existing Nintendo 3DS account information being moved to new Nintendo Network accounts" was also listed as a compounding cause.
Nevertheless, it appears online services have been restored to all Nintendo platforms. "We sincerely apologize for this week's inconsistencies and thank you again for your patience and support," Nintendo added.
