Nintendo announced today that it will be bringing the 3DS version of Super Smash Bros. to San Diego Comic-Con later this month. What's more, it'll be the first-ever tournament for the game, with Ninteno inviting fans to come to the Nintendo Gaming Lound for a chance to participate.
The tournament will begin at noon on July 25 with a preliminary round in which groups of four competitors battle ti out, with the winner advancing. During the finals, players will battle one-on-one to determine the "top smasher." Since tournament slots are limited, sign-ups will be held on the day of the event on a first-com, first-served basis.
Fans not attending San Diego Comic-Con still still enjoy the tournament via a livestream on Nintendo's Twitch channel.
Super Smash Bros. is set to launch for Nintendo 3DS on October 3. The Wii U version, which was shown off at E3 last month, is due out "this holiday season."
