Nintendo NX controller picture allegedly leaks, revealing free-form display and Unreal Engine 4

This is it guys. The NX is coming.

Towards the beggining of December, a patent for a handheld device that used free-form display surfaced, following another patent from Nintendo for a detachable device. The patent had been filed by Nintendo and was believed to be associated with the Nintendo's upcoming NX console.

Nintendo offered no official word on the patent was revealed, but the community's general belief that the patent was for the NX's controller. In the patent the controller had been detailed to feature the following:

A display panel and a touch panel constitute one main surface of the first portion. Holes are formed in left and right end portions of the display panel and the touch panel, and two operation sticks are provided through the two holes.

The leaked image, found on Reddit, appears to feature all this, minus the handles. There are A,B buttons, two analogue sticks, arrows on the screen for navigation, speaker holes, bumpers and a front facing camera.

NX

The image on the controller might appear familiar to those acquainted with Unreal Engine 4 — that's because it's in the Unreal Engine 4 demo (via NeoGaf).

It appears as though we have had our first contact with the Nintendo NX and no – the image isn't photoshoped, Destructoid tested it. Nintendo is definitely known for their innovation, hopefully it doesn't backfire for them with the NX.
