Nintendo sold 3.74 million copies of Pokemon in the last year

Nintendo sold 3.74 million copies of the main Pokemon games in the last 12 months, according to Siliconera.

Pokemon Black and White, which were introduced in North America in March 2011, have pushed 14.71 million copies worldwide to date. Within one calendar year, customers have bought 3.2 million more of these games.

HeartGold and SoulSilver contributed to half a million of the total sales from spring 2011 to 2012, bringing the remakes to an overall count of 12.40 million.

Diamond and Pearl, the first games in the series for Nintendo DS, still top the charts with 17.61 million. Around 40,000 people purchased these versions within the past year.

The grand number does not account for ongoing sales of Pokémon Platinum or spin-off titles.
