Nintendo Switch: FCC filing confirms Bluetooth, no 3G or LTE support, and more

It looks like we finally have some confirmed details on the Nintendo Switch, no thanks to Nintendo. Luckily, the internet has plenty of nosey folks who are good at digging through information!

Redditors located the FCC filing for the Nintendo Switch and promptly began tearing through it looking for any details on the upcoming console that have yet to be announced. According to their findings, the Switch will feature Bluetooth support, but will not feature 3G or LTE support.

The same documents confirm that the Nintendo Switch will be capable of using 5Ghz Wifi, something that recently came to the PS4 with the release of the PS4 Slim. Redditor JediGuy24 broke down what they found in the documents, details that you can find below.

Bluetooth Confirmed: In FCC (Federal Communications Commission) documents, the Switch is referred to as being able to use Bluetooth wireless communications. This is found on page 5 of this document under Radio Specification>Frequency of Operation and Radio Specification>Modulation. This may not mean that the Switch has Bluetooth headphone support, as it may be simply for the controllers.

Temperatures of Operation :In addition to the Bluetooth functionality, the Switch has been tested in and confirmed to work in temperatures of 5 degrees Celsius (41 degrees Fahrenheit) to 35 degrees C (95 degrees F). This information was also found on page 5 of the same document.

No 3G or LTE Support: On page 6 of the the same document as the first, I have found that the Switch did not undergo tests for 3G and LTE connections, so the rumors and speculation of 3G and LTE models of the Switch seem to have been deconfirmed.

It's interesting that the device was only tested in a range of 95 degrees F to 41 degrees Fahrenheit, but you probably won't be gaming outside in worse conditions (right?). In addition to that, the FCC documents detail that the Switch's battery will not be removable by users , and support for an ethernet to USB adapter–  meaning you can probably hook the Switch up to LAN instead of Wifi.
