Nintendo Switch Fighter ARMS Gets a Release Date and a New Fighter

ARMS is a game coming to the Nintendo Switch that is a bit reminiscent of Super Punch Out, in that it's boxing at a glance. However, it's much more than that, which they go into grander detail about in the latest Nintendo Direct.

The Direct explains how different fists can be equipped in ARMS, explaining different elements that can be brought into the ring. Arms can be mixed and matched however the player wants, and each character even seems to control differently. On top of this, new arms can be unlocked throughout the game.

Some fighters have already been shown off previously, including Spring man, Ribbon Girl, and Ninjara. But a new character has been announced: Minmin, the noodle armed girl. Her showcase actually shows that it's not just arms that are used in ARMS, as she's showed kicking thrown fists away from her, avoiding damage completely.

With different arms and different characters, the customizability seems endless. It was revealed that there are even four player battles with 2-on-2 battles. See the whole presentation here, and the initial reveal trailer below.

ARMS will launch for the Nintendo Switch on June 16.
