Last week, Nintendo officially detailed the Nintendo Switch during a presentation and all of the games that will be releasing on it. The presentation was supplemented by a special event in New York City that only allowed 250 people to attend – which has apparently given way to Switch accessories hitting eBay and asking for a pretty penny.
When Switch officially sold out in a number of stores, it was expected that scalpers would take their pre-orders to eBay and flip them for a lot of money. What wasn't expected was people trying to sell merchandise that was freely given to event attendees – like pens, water, pins and a Switch cleaning cloth.
One person is selling a bottle of water from the New York City Switch event for $100.00 (link).
Another person is trying to see a 'collector's' pin for $99.00 (link).
Someone else thinks that a pin and water bottle are worth $120.00 – but the bidding starts at $80.00 (link).
A more level-headed pin seller is only asking for $50.00 (link)
Of course, there are some less expensive option. Some sellers are starting $10 for their tickets or starting a bit at $18.50 for a pen, cleaning cloth, and pin.
