According to a new report from Letsplayvideogames, the UK price for the Nintendo Switch in GAME stores has been revealed.
The outlet and Laura Dale have been correct on several previous reports about the Switch, and the price is set to be £199.99 for the basic version. There will also be a second version with higher storage capacity and a bundled in game which will sell for £249.99. The name of the game was not confirmed although the outlet was provided the name, but I'm guessing it's obviously going to Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild.
Separate controllers will sell at £39.99 and other regions will use a direct conversion feature as the Switch will be a region free console. This means in North America that the consoles will sell for $249.99 and $299.99 respectively as the Euro is worth more than the USD currently. Both of these prices are still way cheaper than the Xbox One ($499) and PS4 ($399) launch prices, and are the same as the current prices of both consoles.
This report is backed up by the Canadian Toys R Us stores, which just recently listed the console at $329.99 Canadian, which would equate to about $245 in USD, or rounded to $249 as stated. You can see the listing here, but in case they remove it we included a picture below for you.
With the Nintendo Switch to have such a vast increase in 3rd party content, as well as rumored games like Skyrim and NBA 2K as shown in the reveal, these prices could really set it up to work well. Based on all of the info we have so far including resolution and screen size, and the fact that the Switch may also be able to play online games while on the go, do these prices convince you to pick one up? Let us know below.
