Nintendo Switch Pro Controller Lasts 40 Hours on One Charge

And it's rechargeable, no batteries needed!

The Nintendo Switch has a pro controller, as many may know. It's a rechargeable controller like the Wii U Pro controller as well. But what makes this one different? A 40-hour life cycle.

The Switch Pro controller has a rechargeable lithium ion battery that's recharged via USB charging cable. It can even be easily synced via that cable as well. But the real kicker is the battery life.  According to the box it comes in, the Switch Pro controller lasts for 40 hours of gameplay. That's not 40 hours of sitting around, not being used. That's 40 hours of actual gameplay.

For reference, the Wii Remote's battery life was somewhere barely in the double digits. The DualShock 4 over at Sony has around 7-8 hours of gameplay and the Xbox One controller has around 20.

The Switch Pro controller doesn't come with the Switch itself, but with such a battery life, it seems worth it to pick up for those who want a familiar gaming experience with some of their Switch games. Additionally, the controller also has motion controls, HD rumble just like the Joycon, and even a built-in Amiibo reader. This thing really is a fully-fledged option for alternative controls. Options really seem to be the Nintendo Switch's forte.

“Nintendo Switch allows gamers the freedom to play however they like,” said Reggie Fils-Aime, President and COO, “It gives game developers new abilities to bring their creative visions to life by opening up the concept of gaming without boundaries.”
