Grand Theft Auto 5 has not been delayed. Responding to concerns stemming from a weird sequence of events on Steam over the holiday break, Rockstar Games has assured the PC master race that GTA 5 is still on track for release on January 27th.
As the story goes, the release date of GTA 5 was changed several times on the game's Steam page. It used to say January, but was changed to "coming soon." And right now, it says "early 2015," despite Rockstar having announced an exact date. So what gives?
Actually, we're not too sure why Steam is saying early 2015, but Rockstar has confirmed, "GTAV will be coming to PC on January 27th. We have not announced any changes to this date at this time."
While Steam is usually pretty accurate in release dates, for now I'll trust the word from the developer. Of course, it's hard to ignore that little bit at the end — the "at this time" nugget. Adding to the speculation, Rockstar promised it would reveal the game's PC specs and we've yet to see them yet. For a game due out in three weeks, this is a bit worrisome.
