No Man’s Sky will be getting a server wipe ahead of launch

Those people that got the game early? Like it never even happened.

No Man's Sky has been a hot topic of late and for good reason. It's a hotly anticipated game that some are apparently willing to drop serious cash on just to have a shot to play early (I'm quite content to stick with the standard $60). Despite these early travelers getting a look that the rest of the internet is seriously envious of, none of it will end up mattering a lick, as developer Hello Games will be completely wiping the game's server this Sunday before the rest of the world starts their adventure on Tuesday.

According to a recent tweet by the studio's Senior Programmer, Harry Denholm, everyone will be getting a fair shake at staking their claim in the universe, in response to a Kotaku article stating there would be a Kotaku planet for players to discover. Here is the tweet:

The No Man's Sky leaker known as Daymeeuhn has since had his content removed from Daily Motion (which isn't surprising), but not before reaching the center of the game's universe. No Man's Sky releases next week on August 9th, 2016 for PC and PlayStation 4.
