No, Nintendo did not announce Pokemon Z

Rumors of an upcoming Pokemon Z announcement have been making their rounds on the internet and regardless of any 'confirmation' you have heard — the game has not been announced. A fake Twitter account called 'Nintendo of America' has fooled hundreds of people, making them believe that the game has been announced by Nintendo.

Looking closely, you will realize that while the Twitter account says 'Nintendo of America' the handle reads as @NinlendoAmerica. Looking even closer, by clicking through to the account will show you that its short bio says "Fake-Account | RT if you want to troll your friends."

The fake announcement couldn't come at a better time, considering images for the Pokemon Z anime linked on the web leading to speculation about a 2016 Pokemon game. Nintendo has yet to reveal any plans for another game in the franchise, but we can pretty much assume we will get one eventually.
